~ SASS Cowboy Action Shooting ~
The Mattaponi Sundowners here by invites all Cowboy Shooters to our Annual Two Day Match and Club Championship, "The Gathering on the Mattaponi". This match will be held on Saturday March 17 and Sunday March 18 of 2012.
~ 12 Stages ~ Side Matches ~ Lunch ~ Awards ~
On Saturday we will shoot 6 stages, have a hot lunch (included in the match fee), and shoot side matches until dusk or everyone is ready to call it a day, whatever comes first. Then on Sunday we will shoot the last 6 stages, have some snacks, and then announce the winners and hand out the awards.
~ Registration Deadline ~ Saturday February 25th, 2012 ~
We are asking all shooters to preregister for the match, this will allow us to have the correct awards and amount of food. You can register at any of our matches between now and the registration deadline or mail your registration in to the address listed on the registration form.
This match is limited to 75 Shooters.
We will allow non registered shooters to shoot the match, either Saturday, Sunday or even both days. However, non registered shooters may not be eligible for awards and side matches.

~ Costs ~
The costs for both days, includes 12 Stage Main Match Fees, Side Matches on Saturday, Lunch on Saturday, Snacks both days and all awards is:
Non WPGC Members: $40.00
WPGC Members: $10.00
The costs for a single day of shooting, not eligible for side matches nor awards (for those who can only make it one single day) is:
Non WPGC Members: $15.00
WPGC Members: $free
There will be no registration fee refunds after the February 25th, 2012 deadline.
(Note to WPGC Members: Our standard policy is not to charge WPGC members any fee for shooting matches at WPGC, it's included in your membership fees. For this match we are charging WPGC a small fee to cover the additional costs of the awards and food, members are not being charged the match fee portion)
~ Every Category A Winner ~
This year there will be two types of awards issued: Overall / Category Awards and Club Championship Awards. At the conclusion of the match on Sunday we will issue the Overall Top Cowboy and Cowgirl Awards as well as all of Category Awards.
At a later date, We will issue the personalized Mattaponi Sundowners Club Championship Awards as has been the custom in years pasts. These awards will be personalized with the shooters Cowboy Alias and that takes additional time to have crafted.
At the match on Sunday we will issue a 1st Place Category Award to every category shot, there will be no minimum shooter requirements. We will issue additional category awards 2nd Place, etc. based upon the number of registered shooters in the category, as follows:
2nd Place ----- 4+ Shooters
3rd Place ------ 6+ Shooters
4th Place ------ 8+ Shooters
5th Place ----- 10+ Shooters
There will be no category changes after the registration deadline of February 25th, 2012. We will not announce nor lists who has signed up for which category. We will recognize all SASS categories and FCGF.
~ Shoot Both Days ~ Saturday Only ~ Sunday Only ~
The match will be scored three ways: Saturday Only, Sunday Only and Saturday-Sunday Combined. Shooters are welcome to shoot only one day or both days, whatever works best for their schedule. However, to be eligible for the awards shooters must shoot all stages, both days.
~ Side Match Details ~
Side matches will be shot on Saturday after the first 6 stages. You must be a participant in the main match in order to shoot side matches. Side match fee is included in the registration fee. Side Match awards will be issued for 1st place in each category and handed out during the Sunday Awards Ceremonies.
